As part of our activities on iTrend Phase 4, I’m upgrading our hardware to have wireless capability, with the dialysis sensors communicating to a central server. The current system has wired data comms with our auxilliary sensors inserted in the dialysis arterial and venous lines, with manual calibration via BP arm cuff at regular intervals

The new upgrades I’m working on will make all the data links wireless to a central laptop which will be running the data analysis to support continuous systolic pressure estimation, automated arm cuff measurements, data display and warning of predicted hypotensive episode. We are currently putting together plans for a set of clinical studies to support this development and also to act as a base for a REF impact study for 2029.
