Driving Discoveries 2024: Accelerating Research

4-5 September 2024, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham.

The DIAMONDS trial and optimising dialysis. Professor Nicholas Selby, professor of nephrology, Royal Derby Hospital and University of Nottingham

Prof Nick Selby will be presenting on activity and achievements since 2017 on the iTrend (Intelligent Technologies for Renal Dialysis) and DIAMONDS (Dialysis Monitoring for Decision Support) projects, and looking at future directions for the project team.

I’m just starting to put together pages documenting the project so far, so here are some random taster images…

iTrend project meeting in what at the time was my boardroom as Director of the IISE Engineering Institute. Our inspirational funder Mel Morris was as usual contributing excellent novel technical ideas to the consortium.

Inside the iTrend lab at Derby University. This is ‘Steve’, our computer controlled cardivascular system which, when connected to a dialysis machine, confirmed that non-invasive , continuous blood pressure monitoring was possible during dialysis treatment without compromising patient experience
