A broad portfolio of funded programme activities, with collaborators including Rolls-Royce, Goodrich, EADS, QinetiQ, Airbus etc.

Airbus only wanted to deal with one UK entity, so Pat, Andy, Phil and I worked with our Universities to take the unprecedented step of forming a single consortium to bid into MOET. The AIMEA Consortium Board (Academic Interest in the More Electric Aircraft) consisted of:
•Paul Stewart – University of Sheffield
•Pat Wheeler – University of Nottingham
•Andy Forsythe – University of Manchester
•Phil Mellor – University of Bristol
AIMEA were awarded the largest partner stake after Airbus.
My group’s activities were centred around Work Package WP7 – Methods, Tools & Simulation, the WP activities are described in this Airbus presentation
